It is our honor to announce the 2025 NAS Oceana Air Show featuring the Navy’s elite flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, top-tier naval aviators, world-class aerobatic pilots, and fun for the entire family!
The NAS Oceana Air Show, which is free and open to the public, is our opportunity to give back to our military families and our community. Each year, we welcome visitors from across the country and around the world to the Navy’s East Coast Master Jet Base, providing them with a front-row seat to the incredible capabilities of naval aviation and the opportunity to meet the extraordinary people who serve our nation.
In addition to the Blue Angels, this year’s lineup includes demonstrations from the F-22 Raptor and F-35C Lightning II Demonstration Teams, and the Rhino Demonstration Team from the Gladiators of VFA-106, homebased right here at NAS Oceana.
This is a big milestone year for the U.S. Navy, as 2025 marks the Navy’s 250th birthday!
Correspondingly, this year’s Air Show theme celebrates 250 years of freedom on the high seas, 250 years of a stabilizing presence for international commerce, and 250 years of honor and prosperity.
What better way to celebrate our birthday than with the roar of afterburner, and the thrill of aerobatic maneuvers performed by incredibly talented pilots!
This year, our theme reflects not only the history and tradition of our Navy, but also the innovative spirit of Naval Aviation—which continues to inspire future generations of American youth.
The Oceana Air Show is about more than just aerial demonstrations. It’s about shaping the future.
Since 2016, the NAS Oceana Air Show has proudly hosted one of the largest Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Education Field Trip in the region, inviting fifth graders from area schools to experience aviation and technology up close during our expansive STEM Laboratory.
We are thrilled to once again welcome thousands of 5th graders from Virginia Beach City Public Schools and Chesapeake Public Schools to NAS Oceana’s Apollo Soucek Field for their annual STEM Education Field Trip during the air show’s practice day.
On Friday, Sept. 19, over 8,000 elementary students from Virginia Beach City and Chesapeake Public Schools will attend this one-of-a-kind STEM immersion experience, where they will get an exclusive sneak peek of the NAS Oceana Air Show as performers practice while engaging in hands-on STEM activities that spark their curiosity and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our goal is simple: Create leaders, explorers, and innovators—and have a lot of fun in the process!
We look forward to celebrating 250 years of America’s Navy, and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow at the 2025 NAS Oceana Air Show. Don’t miss this incredible event!
See you there!
Capt. Josh Appezzato
Commanding Officer, Naval Air Station Oceana
